A description of uneven results

Volatility describes how a game’s prizes are distributed. A higher-volatility design generally puts more emphasis on less frequent, larger outcomes; a lower-volatility design generally produces a less uneven pattern. Labels are a broad description rather than a timetable for wins.

Features can change the feel

Free-spin choices, multipliers and other mechanics can make one mode feel different from another. Read the rules for the selected feature instead of assuming that every bonus within a game has the same characteristics. Provider descriptions can help explain the intended design.

Do not confuse it with RTP

Volatility is not another name for return to player, a Max Win figure or a bonus-trigger frequency. Two games may share one headline statistic and still have different prize distributions. Demo play lets you explore the presentation, but a few spins cannot establish the underlying probabilities.
